Gardening
We have an abundant organic garden. Our animals do a good grazing and fertilizing job to enrich the soil for us. This has helped to build up a rich organic layer in our soil improving water and nutrient balance and creating a diverse ecosystem to support our crops. Our diverse crops, maintenance of weeds, and rich soil all create an ecosystem where pest and disease impacts are reduced and plants have the best conditions for healthy growth. We have been influenced by the principles of Masanobu Fukuoka's "The One-Straw Revolution". We are learning how to grow food for our own animals and have been pretty successful so far.
